Mary Fox

Mary Richter was born a member of the prominent Piper Baking Company family in Chicago. She married Hugo Fox in 1930. They had two children, Alan and Susan.

Mary helped Hugo with his reed making business in their apartment in Chicago and in South Whitley during World War II and throughout the formation of Fox Products in 1949. The reed making was really a family project, with everyone helping to assemble and make the reeds.

Mary retired from making reeds in the late 1950s and has maintained an interest in the company until the present time.
